Nov. 8, 2019 - Victoria Sweeney, of the AFSP Delaware Chapter, shares her first experience of a “lightbulb moment” when discussing how we talk about suicide to the Delaware State Bar Association, explaining why we no longer use the word “commit” when discussing a death by suicide to expand a larger point on how the words we use to discuss the topic can change the way we perceive the issue entirely.
These stories, filmed at our 2018 Chapter Leadership Conference in Charlotte, N.C., feature volunteers from our AFSP Chapters nationwide. To get involved, find your local chapter and check out the volunteer opportunities at the array of programs and events offered year-round!
