May 4 – Lifesavers Gala

At the Lifesavers Gala, we are proud to honor those who bring hope in the fight against suicide. From scientists, to public policy advocates, to loss and attempt survivors and others, Gala honorees go above and beyond in drawing attention to the cause of suicide prevention, elevating public discourse around mental health and suicide, and successfully creating real change within our society as a means to ending this leading cause of death.

In addition to raising much-needed funds for AFSP’s leading initiatives in the areas of research, education, advocacy and support for those affected by suicide, the Gala is an opportunity for our supporters to come together and recognize the past year’s accomplishments. Our distinguished guests share inspiring and informative stories about how suicide has affected them, and their valiant and passionate efforts to fight it.

June 3-4 – The Overnight

The Overnight is an experience like no other.

Once a year, thousands join together to walk through the night to fight suicide. The connections people make last a lifetime and the funds you raise will save lives.

As you walk over 16 miles from dusk till dawn, you'll find support and understanding in a community of others affected by suicide. You’ll feel safe and cared-for in a community where everyone supports each other. It's a place to laugh, to cry, and to heal—to honor the past and embrace the future that your work will change for the better.

Join us in Washington, D.C. on June 3 as we walk to help put a stop to this leading cause of death.

June 25-28 – The Advocacy Forum

The Advocacy Forum brings together AFSP volunteer Field Advocates from across the country to make their voices heard for suicide prevention and mental health.

AFSP Advocates are joined by members of Congress, policy experts, and others impacted by suicide and mental health to learn about the federal policy changes and legislation that can save lives. As part of the Advocacy Forum, AFSP chapter representatives have the opportunity to meet with members of Congress and their staff to speak about AFSP’s legislative priorities that need support.
