Rhode Island suicide prevention plans and initiatives
Rhode Island’s suicide prevention activities are housed within the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP), which gives communities and policy-makers data and technical assistance to implement programs and policies that aim to reduce suicides, and is charged with overseeing the planning and implementation of the Rhode Island Youth Suicide Prevention Project. Most recently, RIDOH published VIPP’s 2019-2023 Rhode Island Violence & Injury Prevention State Plan: Suicide/Suicide Attempt Prevention Section.
